2011: Irene
The last weekend in August of 2011 hurricane Irene was forecast to hit Vermont as a tropical storm.

We survived the storm without significant damage, unlike the rest of Vermont. One of the most terrifying events during the storm was the tree limbs breaking and landing on or against the house. We had several pine trees that actually banged on the house they were bent so hard by the wind.
| Climber |
After Irene, I decided to remove the pine trees that were a threat to our house. They had to be climbed and taken down. We had 7 large pines taken down.
In this picture you can see the climber. He limbed as he climbed and then cut the tree down in sections starting at the top.
I hauled the logs to brother Tom's to cut into lumber.
I used the lumber from the trees we cut down after Irene. My neighbor, John Anderson, often would come over and help.
By early November the roof was shingled, with the help of Bob Kilmartin.
For siding, I used 1" rough cut lumber (from my trees), which I trucked back to brother Tom's so we could plane one side of each board and size them. I then nailed them vertically onto the building.
I got windows free from Dad and bought doors on the side of the road for $100. By the end of 2015 it was good enough for winter.

There were many loads but these were the big logs. Almost 2ft in diameter.
The lumber came back and was stacked before winter for drying.

2015:
In October of 2015 construction of my Tractor Shed finally started. I built it on the same cement pad which I poured for a temporary shelter I put up around 2010.

| Winter 2015 |

By November of 2016 I had stained it and had Limoge & Sons install the overhead door.
Someday I will put real siding on it.
